VCA Amstetten Lower Austria starts the volleyball season with defeat

The new season of the Powerfusion Volley League men has started with a defeat for the VCA Amstetten Lower Austria. In an exciting away game against the UVC Ried/Innkreis, the Amstettner had to accept a clear 0-3 defeat. The first sentence in which both teams acted nervously and made many mistakes ended in a narrow extension with 26-28 in favor of the Rieder. Despite the first advantages of the Lower Austrians, they could not win the sentence.

The sports director of the VCA Amstetten Lower Austria, Michael Henschke, commented dissatisfied about the performance: "You always have to be careful when assessing after the first matchday, but I am disappointed. Our achievements in the past few weeks in training and in the preparatory games were better. Today we were not able to get the Rieder under control."

In the second sentence there was a similar picture: at the beginning the Amstettner were back in front, but the Rieder took control and won the set with 20-25. The third round was somewhat more balanced, but the Rieder also prevailed here and ended the game after about 90 minutes with 22-25.

coach Constant Tchoussi, who made his debut in the domestic volleyball Bundesliga, also spoke of an inadequate commitment of his team. "We certainly did not put all our potential on the pitch and have to improve. The players have to pursue the game plan better during the match. Tchoussi emphasized that defeats are part of the learning process and the team had to learn from their mistakes.

On October 11th, the first home game for the VCA Amstetten Lower Austria is on the program, where they will compete with the strong opponent TSV Hartberg. The game takes place at 6 p.m. in the Johann-Pölz-Halle. The spectators allowed next Friday can expect an exciting match after the team from Amstetten meets the opposing runner -up.
