Explosion in Ried: Chemicals experiment ends with apartment fire
in Ried im Innkreis, Upper Austria, on November 24, 2024 there was a dramatic incident in a multi -party house. Around 2:20 p.m., a devastating fire broke out in an apartment. When the police arrived, the firefighters were already in action and fought against the flames that hit the apartment of a 38-year-old man.
As it turned out, the 38-year-old had tried to produce Böller himself. He used a self -made spherical mill, which consisted of a large cardboard tube with a diameter of 1500 mm and a length of 300 mm. According to him, he mixed 800 grams of chemicals in powder form. For reasons that have so far been unclear, this chemical mixture ignited and led to an explosion that caused the fire.
The consequences of the accident
Despite his efforts to extinguish the fire, the man could not prevent the man from burning down the entire residential property. In the course of the incident, both the 38-year-old and a 27-year-old roommate were taken to the Ried hospital in the Innkreis. The exact amount of damage is not yet known, but it is clear that the house has been significantly damaged.
The situation has caused a sensation and raises questions about safety when dealing with dangerous substances, especially when it comes to the production of fireworks. Such activities can easily get out of control and have devastating consequences.
