33 years of help for Romanian children: Rieder Verein urgently needs support
Ried/Peuerbach. For over three decades, the "Association for the support of Romanian baby homes - Ried i. I. helps Romania tirelessly for needy children in Temesvar. The committed club chairman Anneliese Hois lively remembers the shaking conditions that she found when the club was founded in 1990, after the end of the dictatorship of Ceausescu.
In the first few years, the children's home was in a miserable condition. "The children were bad. The building was completely desolate, had no intact heating and sanitary facilities," she says. The association reacted quickly to this emergency and not only invested in medical care, but also in the urgently needed renovations of the home.
progress through support
Thanks to the generous donations from Upper Austria and the tireless efforts of the club members, the home has now become a showcase project. Anneliese Hois emphasizes: "Only with the ongoing support of our club can the standard achieved in decades of effort and ensure the continued existence of the house."
Despite these progress, the home remains dependent on donations. The Rieder Association is the last remaining supporter of this humanitarian project, which is still urgently needed in view of the dilapidated healthcare system and the high poverty in the region.
In recent years,Babies with disabilities or serious illnesses who need specific care have also been accommodated in the home. The supply is carried out by aid trips that provide high-quality products such as milk powder, care and hygiene items as well as special food.
However, the increasing costs have led to the association can only carry out two aid trips per year. The next trip is already planned for the upcoming weekend from November 22nd to 24th. During this time, all urgently needed items are bought on site to ensure that the children receive the necessary care. It remains to be seen how the Situation will develop in the future in order to continue to maintain the vital support as www.tips.at reports .
