The new youth center Grein: Meeting point for nine communities
The Grein youth center recently moved into a new location and is now shining in the former bathroom restaurant. This change took place in early October and means an important step for the young people in the region. Those responsible, including the center manager Johann Aichinger, did not complete the changeover without challenges, since the old restaurant had to be renovated first to make it habitable.
The renovation work was not only carried out by specialists, but also numerous young people contributed to this. The new room on the first floor now offers generous opportunities, including a large youth room, a kitchen and retreat for the girls. This new environment not only brings a breath of fresh air to the activities of the youth center, but also ensures a friendlier and more inviting ambience.
activities and advantages of the new location
Johann Aichinger and the Juz chairwoman Fabiola Gattringer emphasize the advantages of the new location. Thanks to the proximity to schools and leisure activities such as a skating place, access for young people is significantly improved. This makes it possible to adapt the opening times to the needs of the students so that you can use the waiting time for the school bus sensibly. Aichinger is particularly pleased about the return of older young people who often stop by for coffee and can exchange memories and experiences there.
The youth center is open to all young people aged 12 and over and is not only an important starting point for Grein, but also for adjacent communities such as Bad Kreuzen and Saxen. Since the founding of the youth region Perg-Ost in 2019, the JUZ has been a central point of contact for various leisure activities and targeted projects to promote young people. The financing is carried out by various local sponsors, including the Perg and the state of Upper Austria.
support and praise
An important supporter for the JUZ is district captain Werner Kreisl, who is praised for his appreciative nature and support. Aichinger recognizes the role of the district captain and emphasizes how much the joint support for the establishment and success of the youth center means.
The preliminary opening times of the new Juz Grein are:
- Tuesday: 12 noon to 6 p.m.
- Wednesday: 12 noon to 6 p.m.
- Thursday: 2 p.m. to 8 p.m.
- Friday: 2 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The phone number 0664/9641183 is available for individual inquiries or appointments. The youngsters in Grein can look forward to an exciting time in the new youth center, which is freshly renovated and well positioned.
