Upper Austria promotes the digital future with new AI projects

Upper Austria positions itself strategically as a pioneer in the application of artificial intelligence (AI) with a new funding program that offers remarkable opportunities for local companies and research institutions. As part of the "AI Region Upper Austria 2024" funding letter, a total of eleven research projects can now be financially supported after the original number of eight projects has been raised due to the high quality of the submitted work. The increase in the budget to 8 million euros testifies to the relevance and potential of these research projects for the region.

A total of 34 projects were submitted in this tender, all of which aim to further develop new technologies with the help of artificial intelligence. A main focus was on interactive networking between companies and research institutions. In order to promote these synergies, each project had to prove close cooperation between at least one company and a university or research center.
