Help for people with impairments: the club I am in Bad Ischl
In the inner Salzkammergut, the association “I am I” plays a crucial role for people with impairments and their families. For many years, this association has been a contact point in which support is offered in different areas of life. The volunteers are committed to supporting those affected in everyday problems, conveying specialist contacts and helping them in financial needs.
The help offered is diverse: from barrier -free living to aids and therapeutic measures to leisure activities, a lot is covered to improve the life of those seeking help. A central feature is that all support is provided unbureaucratic, discreet and uncomplicated, financed by donations, membership fees and benefit events.
Positive feedback on 28 auxiliary inquiries
Since its foundation in 1997, the association has made strange progress. Together with the Bad Ischler group of the Samaritan Association, important facilities such as the Bad Ischl residential building and the day care center M3 were launched. These facilities offer over 40 people with impairments a place to live and work. In 2024, the association worked positively 28 auxiliary requests and provided a total of 44,800 euros. These funds were used for essential things such as wheelchair pushing aids, stairlifts, barrier-free conversions and therapies. Special events such as excursions and workshops complement the club's offer and ensure extensive support.
financing through joint commitment
The financing of the offers of help is based primarily on the generous support of donors, sponsors and the income from benefit events. Flea markets and Christmas markets have turned out to be effective ways to generate the necessary means. The association is grateful and emphasizes the need for these contributions: "We would like to thank all people and companies who support our work with money amounts and time donations. Without this commitment, our help would not be possible." This expression of gratitude underlines the joint effort behind the work of the association.
Thanks to such initiatives, the association "I am I" is an important example of how complex support for people with impairments can be provided. Further information on the activities and the future of the association are about www.tips.at available.
