Winter magic on the tree top path: light festival and ORF active day in Gmunden

On December 8th, visitors to the Salzkammergut tree top path awaits a very special event in Gmunden. The ORF Salzburg invites you to an active day that shows in a magical winter world. Over hundreds of thousands of warm and white lights will illuminate the path and ensure an unforgettable ambience. It is an exclusive day that promises an experience for both large and small guests.

With a height of 1,004 meters, the Grünberg enthroned majestically above Traunsee and offers a wide range of leisure activities. The diverse offers range from the summer toboggan run to the adventure playground, all of which stand for fun and relaxation outdoors. Whether hiking or just enjoying the view - everyone gets their money's worth here. The Grünberg mountain railway also provides accessible access for visitors to all ages.

Maria Marcova, the marketing manager of the tree top path, is enthusiastic about the upcoming preparations: "We are really looking forward to the day of action and can't wait to see all the beautiful lights. There will be a very special atmosphere up here." From November the entire path will be decorated with lights, whereby the guests are accompanied to the top of the observation tower, which is also festively decorated.

"The shining will not simply be the usual fairy lights," adds Marcova. "You just have to experience that yourself!" Special fairy ornate will make the path even more magical and take the guests into a winter dream world.

A competition is organized for participating in the ORF Salzburg Active Day. Participants have the chance to win themselves and an accompanying person for the event. The event begins at 3:00 p.m. and includes a trip with the Grünberg mountain railway to enjoy the wonderful view over the Salzkammergut. In addition, a “Behind the Scene” leadership gets an insight into the cable car. Experts from the region are at the side of visitors to make the experiences even more enriched.

The closing date for participation for the competition is December 3, 2024. All people aged 16 and over are eligible to participate. The lucky winners will be notified by phone. A multi -party participation is excluded.
