Strong cooperation between the fire brigades: Successful exercise in Altmünster
The fire brigades of the Altmünster compulsory area recently demonstrated their skills and cooperation during a large -scale exercise in the Aurachtal. This exercise took place in Reindlmühl and had the scenario of a fictional fire in an agricultural company. The emergency services were alerted through the Gmunden district warning office, and the Reindlmühl fire brigade took over the organization.
A total of 87 emergency services from various fire brigades were involved, including Reindlmühl, Neukirchen, Eben, Nachsee, Altmünster, Traunkirchen, Pinsdorf and Ohlsdorf. In the first location exploration, operations manager chief fire inspector Stefan Bachl decided to increase the alarm level at level two to ensure an effective procedure. He thanked the Prayer Roither family, who provided her property for the exercise.
Creating logistical challenges
A significant part of the exercise was the establishment of a fire water pipe, which was moved to the site over 1.4 kilometers from the Aurach. This task brought special logistical challenges with it because the water source was at a significant distance. To ensure that the water supply was constant, six portable pumps were used, which were positioned along the way. This measure enabled an even distribution of the extinguishing water. The fire brigade Altmünster supported the exercise with a telescopic mast stage that made it possible to combat the "fire" from height.
During the exercise, it was also necessary to find four missing people. Thanks to the rapid use of the respiratory protection teams, three of the missing people could be localized and saved in the very smoky barn. The fourth person was saved by a silo with the telescopic mast stage. The fire brigade medical service was on site to immediately supply the people concerned.
At around 4 p.m., Bachl was able to report the successful completion of the practice scenario via radio. This positive feedback underlined the good work and the high level of training of the participants.recognition and cohesion
The outstanding performance of the fire brigade was also recognized by Mayor Martin Pelzer. He expressed his pride in the remarkable cooperation within the fire brigades and the firm cohesion beyond the compulsory area. His gratitude was particularly important to the volunteers who were ready in the best weather to use their time and energy for their fellow human beings.
After the exercise, the participants met for the debriefing in the Gasthof Urzn am Gmundnerberg. The progress was recognized here and experiences were exchanged. Christian Gruber from the national forces praised the quick and effective support of his colleagues from Traunkirchen, Pinsdorf and Ohlsdorf. The Member of the National Council Bettina Zopf did not miss the opportunity to reward the exhausted emergency services with sweets, which loosened up the mood and caused a good mood.
Overall, the exercise not only demonstrated the operational readiness of the fire brigades in Altmünster and the surrounding area, but also set a strong sign of the effectiveness and efficiency of the teams. This realistic simulation helped the participants to test their skills under difficult conditions and to continuously improve. More on this is more in a detailed report on www.tips.at to be found.
