New heroes: Ottnanger fire brigade shines during the performance test

On November 16, 2024, the Ottnang volunteer fire brigade was in a light shine when it faced a special challenge: the fire service. It was the result of seven weeks of intensive training in which the members of the fire brigade refined their skills and prepared for this important examination.

The performance test is known for its realistic structure, which aims to prepare the committed firefighters for possible missions in an emergency. In groups of seven members each, they had to prove themselves in various deployment scenarios. Situation exercises such as hedge fire, room fire and fluid fire were required to test the entire spectrum of skills.

The results of the exams were impressive. In total, the participants successfully mastered four rounds. Four comrades won the bronze badge, while another four received the silver badge. However, the most successful cut off the eight comrades who obtained the highest award in gold. The acceptance of this demanding examination was the responsibility of the Vöcklabruck district fire brigade command, which attentively examined and appreciated the performance of the firefighters.

These successes are not only a sign of personal commitment, but also an important step to improve the operational readiness of the volunteer fire brigade. The excellent performance reflects the high motivation and skills of the comrades, who are constantly evolving and preparing for all challenges in the fire service.
