Honors for Gmundner's policy greats: Köppl receives honorary citizenship
On Friday, October 25th, there was a special honor from former politicians in the Gmundner Stadttheater, who have earned the city in recent years. This event praised the commitment and dedication that many of these personalities have shown in the service of the community.
As part of these celebrations, the honorary citizenship was awarded to the former mayor Heinz Köppl (ÖVP), a rare title that is only awarded to extraordinary personalities. The former Vice Mayor, Gottfried Schrabacher (ÖVP), received a further recognition for his political work.

The event included a number of badges of honor that were awarded to various ex-politicians and administrators. The bronze badge of honor went to several deserves, including Elisabeth Auer (SPÖ), Franz Moser (ÖVP) and Josef Sperrer (Greens). For two periods in the municipal council, Siegfried John (ÖVP) and Herbert Löcker (city list) were awarded the honor in silver. The name in bronze was awarded to Manfred Andßner (ÖVP) and Helmut Hochegger (SPÖ), while Gerald Grampelhuber (FPÖ) and Wolfgang Ortner (ÖVP) received the sign in silver. Mayor Stefan Krapf spoke at the award of the importance of the commitment of the honored. With dismay, he emphasized which projects were launched by the work of people like Heinz Köppl. "He has shaped the city decisively in his 17 years," emphasized Krapf.
