Drama in the climbing garden: 19-year-old falls 30 meters deep!

A dangerous climbing accident shook the Rindbach climbing garden in Ebensee on Saturday. A 19-year-old man from the Gmunden district fell about 30 meters above steep terrain and suffered serious injuries. The young athlete was traveling with a friend and had just taken a break when he decided to look for a new climbing route. Suddenly he lost his balance on the 45 degree steep terrain and fell into a deciduous gutter, which offered no way to intercept.

The rescue measures were initiated quickly: his friend and two other climbers who observed the crash immediately provided first aid and alerted the rescue workers. The emergency medical helicopter "Martin 3" immediately transported the seriously injured climber to a hospital, where it could be medical care. His companion, who witnessed the accident, suffered a heavy shock, which underlines the drama of the incident.
