50 years of music lovers Gmunden: Festival concert inspires in the Toscanasaal
On Friday, November 15, 2024, a particularly festive event was celebrated in the Toscana Hall in Gmunden. The orchestra of Musikfreunde Gmunden delighted the numerous audience under the direction of Peter Aigner. The atmosphere in the full hall was exuberant from the start and full of anticipation.
The evening began with a lively overture by Gioachino Rossini, which the audience immediately sits. But the highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the premiere of a newly composed orchestra suite entitled "Sueño" by Prof. Walter Kienesberger, which was specially created for the 50th anniversary of the orchestra. This special performance was a testimony to the musical creativity and the commitment of the Gmundner music scene.
children's choir and moving texts
The appearance of the children's choir of the MVS Gschwandt was also particularly well received. Under the sensitive direction of director Annemarie Hauer, the young singers conjured up a magical experience on the stage with their sonorous voices. Ines Rosner, who performed her own texts between the pieces of music and thus kidnapped the listeners into imaginative worlds of thought, took over the artistic accompaniment.
The concert found its impressive conclusion with the 4th symphony by Robert Schumann. This piece is particularly remarkable because it was written for Schumann's wife Clara for her birthday - a suitable symbol for the orchestra's 50th birthday. The evening was a worthy testimony of the musical tradition of the Gmundner music lovers under the motto "Classical from Gmunden in Gmunden".
such an anniversary is not only a reason to celebrate, but also a sign of constant cultural vitality in the region. More information about this unique event can be found here
