Strudengau-Cup: youngsters are preparing for exciting winter season

The preparations for the Strudengau Cup are in full swing, and the racing dates for the upcoming winter season have now been officially determined. After intensive "drying training" during the summer months, the young team has already completed the first training sessions on snow in the past few weeks. This represents an important development step for the young athletes who adapt to the challenges of the coming racing season.

The Strudengau Cup, an important event in the region's ski racing calendar, is on 11. January 2025 opened in Kirchbach in Lower Austria. Here two giant goal runs are aligned by the sports unions Dimbach and Pabneukirchen. This event is the starting signal for a number of other races that will shape the winter season.

31. January a slalom race will take place, followed by two giant gate runs on 1. and February 2 , which are also held in St. Georgen and are organized by the ASKÖ St. Georgen am Walde. The grand finale of the Strudengau Cup is for the 16. February 2025 scheduled in Freistadt, where the sports unions of All Saints' Day and Waldhausen/Dorfstetten will choose their club champions.

A familiar name in the organization team is Johann Steiner, who recently took over the office of the chairman of the Strudengau-Cup association; He succeeds Kurt Steindl, who has served the club as a manager for many years. The association combines several sports unions, including All Saints' Day, Dimbach/Pabneukirchen, Münzbach and the ASKÖ clubs from St. Georgen am Walde and Schwertberg.

The successes of last year's winter cannot be overlooked. The ski youth team from the Strudengau has won the Upper Austrian club rating with outstanding achievements. Particular attention is paid to Jonas Steinkellner from Arbing, who won first place in the U16 category at the season finale in Windischgarsten and thus also secured victory in the Upper Austria Landescup. Cornelia Kastenhofer from Dimbach followed him in second place in the Landescup, which underlines the quality and competition within the region.

In the future, various events will also be due to the Schorschi slope in St. Georgen am Walde. Children and student races as well as the district championship are scheduled here. The first highlight is on 27. December 2024 , followed by a Night Race on 31. January 2025 and other exciting events.
