The city cemetery in Freistadt has received a special award: As part of the Upper Austria 2024 environmental prize, it was voted “Green Oasis”. This is not only an honor for the area, but also a step towards more sustainability in urban space.

The team of “Mit-Welt der parish Freistadt” has set an ambitious goal, namely the renaturation of the city cemetery. This step is intended to help create a natural space that benefits both the environment and humans. The idea behind this project is to promote the natural environment and at the same time create a place of calm and reflection.
