AI in tourism: possibilities and limits at the workshop in Hagenberg
In Hagenberg, an insightful workshop recently took place, which was organized by the Mühlviertler Alm Freistadt tourism association. Under the direction of Tourismus-Ki coachin Manuela Machner, numerous representatives of tourism companies gathered to learn more about the possibilities of artificial intelligence (AI). The workshop offered both theoretical basics and practical insights and attracted a lot of attention through lively discussions.
The participants had the opportunity to deal with the basic concepts of AI. They learned how artificial intelligence works, how it “learns” and comes to results. It was also discussed what skills AI has and where their limits are. An important part of the workshop was the exploration of the practical applications of AI that covered areas such as automatic text and language generation as well as image processing and data analysis.
The role of AI in the tourism industry
The examples of how KI is already successfully used in tourist companies were particularly captivating. The participants learned which steps are necessary to implement AI technologies in their own companies. The aim of the workshop was to convey to the participants how different AI models work and how these technologies can help to relieve the staff and optimize processes.
"We are enthusiastic about the great interest and active participation in the workshop," reported Jasmin Pfeiffer, project manager for artificial intelligence at the tourism association. "It is impressive to see how diverse the possible uses of artificial intelligence are and how they can already be used in different areas, especially in tourism." The knowledge gained should now be implemented in order to actively shape the future of tourism with the support of AI.
man remains the focus
During the workshop, important trends and developments in relation to AI and tourism were also addressed, including the changes in the search and booking behavior of travelers. The participants agreed that despite the advantages and possibilities that AI offers, the human component in the tourism sector remains irreplaceable. In an area that is strongly dependent on personal interaction and individual care, human skills and empathy are still of central importance even in times of artificial intelligence.
Overall, this workshop shows the efforts of the Tourismus Association Mühlviertler Alm Freistadt to deal with new technologies and to use their potential for the industry. The exciting discussion has opened up new perspectives for the participants and sharpened the awareness of the opportunities that AI can offer.
