Successful dual learning: Matura and mechatronics teaching in one!

In beautiful Freistadt, an impressive educational project celebrated its first great success. Michael Klopf, an ambitious student, not only passed his Matura at the Freistadt high school, but also completed his training as a mechatronics engineer with distinction. This is a big step for him and shows how well the cooperation between high school and dual training works.

Four years ago, the BG/BRG Freistadt started working with the “CAP” training program. Students who choose this path have the opportunity to obtain the AHS Matura and vocational training in the field of mechatronics at the same time. This innovative combination allows learners to acquire two important qualifications in just four years. The “Cyber Security” training branch has been offered under the same program for two years, which further diversified the school's offer.

cap: More than just training

During their school days, the students regularly attend the high school of the high school and also take part in training modules, which usually take place on Friday evening and Saturday. These modules are a valuable opportunity for the students to acquire practical knowledge. In addition, there is the opportunity during school holidays to gain relevant professional experience in real business companies through compulsory internships.

Michael Klopf, who enjoyed this training, emphasizes the positive aspects of his career: "Cap is fun, friendship and learning at the same time. Through my training, I not only acquired technical knowledge in the field of mechatronics, but was also able to optimally prepare for the world of work with the ferial internships." His enthusiasm is also reflected in the growing number of students who follow this example.
