Noble fire sommeliers celebrate the end - new opportunities for Freistädter!

In Hirschbach and Freistadt there is reason to be happy: For 15 dedicated participants, training as a certified noble fire sommelier at the rural training institute in Upper Austria ended in 2024. This initial training took place in various distilleries of the picturesque Mühlviertel, especially in the Freistadt and Perg districts. The graduates include Josef Schaumberger from Hirschbach and Philipp Grabmüller, who works in the Whiskey Destillery Affenzeller in Alberndorf. They not only bring knowledge of noble distillery products, but also open up new income opportunities, as the district farmer's chamber happily announces. Martin Moser, the chairman of the district farmers' chamber, emphasizes that the graduates act as ambassadors of the noble fire culture in their regions and promote appreciation for peasant specialties.

The training as a noble fire sommelier gives the participants extensive knowledge of legal framework conditions, production processes and sensory basics for tasting. Graduates have the option of holding tasting and regional events independently, which increases the exchange between producers and consumers and improves the sales opportunities for local products. Such qualifications are particularly relevant in Freistadt and the surrounding region, where there are numerous further training opportunities. In a city with around 7,800 inhabitants, interested parties can further qualify through a large number of educational institutions and promote their own career.

diverse further training opportunities

As described on further training. This diversity underlines the importance of continuous further training in professional development. Also alternative learning formats, such as online courses and educational holidays, are also offered by many providers in the region and make it possible to gain new knowledge flexibly and in a targeted manner.
