30 years of workshop environment: Successful initiative for the environment and labor market in Braunau
In the past thirty years, the workshop environment Braunau has established itself as a significant facility in the area of waste management. This institution, which is under the sponsorship of FAB social companies, was launched in order to make waste management in the city more efficient and, on the other hand, to create job opportunities for people who were without employment for a long time.
From the foundation, the workshop environment pursued clear goals. It should not only improve the existing waste management system, but also offer new perspectives for job seekers. This approach has turned out to be successful: Around 1,478 people from Braunau have been able to take new career through this facility in the past three decades.
diverse services for the citizens
The workshop environment takes over a variety of tasks that are closely linked to waste disposal and management. This includes the bulk collection and the separation and disposal of old states. It also carries out clearing out and helps to clear up apartments, which benefits the citizens of Braunau. In addition, the workshop environment offers the preparation of firewood and carries out various container transports for the district waste association.
An important step in the development of the project was the move in 1995, just one year after its foundation, from the original location near the source path to the municipal recycling center. This strategic transfer of location not only enabled the services to be expanded, but also led to the opening of a used goods market. The repair and sale of old goods contributed to avoiding waste and at the same time created new employment opportunities for employees.
2008 The waste system in Braunau was further optimized with the move of the waste collection center to a new waste management center, which is accessible to all citizens of the district. Another milestone in the development was the integration into the nationwide Revital Shop network, which took place in July 2009.
Today, Ursula Erlmoser's workshop environment is managed and employs 15 temporary employees. In addition, five people are currently being trained in special courses, while three more receive practical work training as part of the "Stand Up" program. The workshop environment not only makes a valuable contribution to waste management, but also makes a significant contribution to promoting employment opportunities in the region.
