Oberlechner on housing policy: SPÖ plan endangers social housing!
In the debate about housing policy in Austria, the FPÖ building spokesman Michael Oberlechner drove sharp criticism of the Minister of Residential Minister of the SPÖ, Andreas Babler on June 4, 2025. Oberlechner described Babler's measures as incompetence and as harmful to social housing. This happened in the context of rising housing costs, which are influenced by high inflation and cause increasing resentment in society.
The reaction of the Austrian Association of Non -Profit Construction Associations on Babler Projects is a clear sign that current politics will have a negative effects not only on municipal but also at federal level. Oberlechner therefore demands a holistic housing policy to make living in Austria for all citizens: to make it affordable on the inside.
Criticism of Babler Focusing
Especially the one -sided focus on the regulated and non -profit housing market is sharply criticized by Oberlechner. He spoke out for measures that promote free rent formation. The FPÖ politician also calls for a reduction in rented municipal building at a cooperative level. His accusation that Babler's plans are a "residential policy proposal" illustrates deep skepticism towards current housing policy.
The problem of housing costs has now reached many households in Austria because private households spend an essential part of their income for living. According to Statistics Austria , the housing costs include various financial aspects, including operating costs, energy costs and maintenance costs. The rising rents increasingly strain households and create pressure on politics to find solutions.
political measures to relieve
At the political level, measures have recently been decided to relieve the tenants: to relieve the inside in Austria. On the initiative of the Drei coalition, the National Council decided to have temporary rents Freeze for old building, community and cooperative apartments. This measure is considered necessary by experts in order to counteract the so -called "rental price spiral". State Secretary Michaela Schmidt reported on the 긍정 Ative effects of the rent brake and that the measures could save around 1.5 million Austrians: inside a total of 140 million euros per year.
Nevertheless, this relief is not considered sufficient by all political forces. The Greens and the FPÖ consider the implementation to be inadequate and criticize the temporary measures as not far -reaching enough. A motion for a resolution of the Greens, which demanded a rental price stop until the end of 2026, found no majority in the National Council.
In view of these developments, Oberlechner announced initiatives in the National Council and confirmed the need for a comprehensive reform in the living area to ensure that living in Austria not only remains wearable for future generations, but also for the current sections of the population.Details | |
