In the city of Zwettl, the situation has intensified after the devastating flood that the region has hit. The damage commission has been active since last week and examines the effects of the storm. Mayor Franz Mold commented on the enormous damage and the associated personal suffering of the affected residents at the recent meeting of the municipal council.

So far, 90 damage reports have been received by the Zwettl city office. In order to help the affected citizens, the state of Lower Austria will quickly release immediate help from the disaster fund as soon as the damage determination is completed.

Otherwise, the ice rink and its fences are also damaged. Vice Mayor Andrea Wiesmüller said that despite the damage to the ice rink, everything is done to complete the preparations for the winter season until December.
