Cultural festival Golden Zwanziger inspires in Wiener Neustadt

Last Friday, the Theresian Military Academy in Wiener Neustadt experienced a very special event that gave visitors immersed in the glamorous world of the "golden twenties". Under the motto "Culture in the Burg", the team of the St. Peter Museum offered a varied program that took around 300 guests into the fascinating era with music, theater, film and dance.

The event began with a ceremonial opening by Cultural City Councilor Franz Piribauer and Major General Karl Pronhagl, musically framed by a brass quintet of the J.M.Hauer Musikschule. In order to loosen up the mood, the guests were served free punch, which also intensified the festive atmosphere.

A highlight of the evening was the musical arrangement from the "Dreigroschenoper", performed by the ostriches Octet, which performed in the impressive knight's hall of the military academy. The singers of "4voicez" performed in the Georgskathedral. They captivated the audience with timeless melodies such as "Bel Ami", "Ain’t She Sweet" and "My Way". The dance ensemble Sog Theater and UTSC Dancefire also ensured unforgettable moments by showing passionate choreographies and creative ideas in special ball planning.

silent film and hit

Another highlight was the journey into the world of silent film with "Metropolis", which revived the nostalgic flair of old film art. Schlager of the 1920s were an integral part of the program. Antonia Braditsch, Teresa Müllner, Wolfgang Rosenthaler and Christoph Jackwerth delighted the audience with their performances. The crowning glory was a jazzy end in the club room with Andreas Poropatits, Hans Czettel and Josef Schultner, who kidnapped the audience with their sounds.

Overall, "Culture in the Burg" proved to be a successful event that combined both the nostalgic and modern elements of art and culture. The students of the J.M.Hauer Musikschule, the dancers and actors from various theater groups had created an unforgettable evening that will remain in the memory of the visitors.
