Tragic traffic accident at Matzles: 19-year-old died

In the night of Thursday to Friday, more precisely around 00:45 a.m., the fire brigade was called for a tragic traffic accident on Landesstraße 60 near Matzles. Three fire brigades - Dietmanns, Matzles and Waidhofen - moved out to help with human rescue. But for the 19-year-old driver of an Audi A6, all help came too late.

The young man was on the state road 60 from Dietmanns towards Waidhofen when he got off the road for unexplained reasons. In doing so, he ran over two guiding plots and collided with a traffic sign. Afterwards the car crashed head -on against two field access and finally came to a standstill in a meadow. The impact was so violent that the engine block and the left front tire were torn out and thrown into the area.

When the first rescue workers arrived at the site, the emergency doctor said that the driver of the Audi had already passed away. Despite all efforts, the young man could no longer be saved. The fire brigade then secured the endangered area and highlighted the scene of the accident. Together with the fire brigade Dietmann's fire brigade, an access opening was then created via the passenger side of the vehicle.

To enable the deceased to rescue, the vehicle had to be carefully turned onto the roof. A hydraulic rescue device was used for this. Finally, the deceased could be recovered from the wreck using a spineboard.

After the tragic recovery, the body was removed by the urban burial. The police offered support in communicating relatives, in cooperation with the crisis intervention team of the Red Cross. In these difficult moments it is important to make the necessary sympathy and support to the bereaved.

After the police were released, the clean -up work was initiated. The Audi A6 was recovered from the meadow with a loading crane from the changing of the change. All vehicle parts and the engine block were safely stowed and removed.
