Innovative entrepreneurs from the region awarded: prices for creativity and sustainability

At a festive gala of the Social Democratic Wirtschaftsverband (SWV) Lower Austria, supported by the Association of Social Democratic Community representatives (Lower Austria GVV), numerous entrepreneurs from rural areas were awarded on October 14, 2023. The venue, the world of experience Gaul in the Horn district, offered the right framework to honor the outstanding achievements of these innovative economic operators. A total of 15 prizes were awarded in different categories to celebrate the entrepreneurial spirit and the creativity of the region.

As part of the event, prominent guests of honor presented the awards: SPÖ state councilor Ulrike Königsberger-Ludwig was just as present as Thomas Schaden, President of the SWV NÖ, and Andreas Kollross, President of the Lower Austria GVV. They all congratulated the winners personally and underlined the importance of the excellent companies for the local economy. The moderation of the evening took over Gerd Böhm and Katharina Bauer, who provided an entertaining atmosphere.

The winners

The award from Julia Fidi-Weißenhofer was particularly gratifying, who took first place in the “young entrepreneurs” category with her jewel city café in Zwettl. In the "entrepreneurs" category, Helga Kuntner was honored for her women's boutique "Beauty & Case" in Krems. Kathrin Deibler, who noticed her shop "Glückstoff" in Zwettl, also received the first prize in the "One -person company" category. The duo Gottfried and Reinhard Stark from Irnfritz won in the "innovative and sustainable" category for their construction company. A remarkable third place went to Rene Leberorger, who, despite the challenges by Corona and the energy crisis, sets new accents with his inn.

Thomas Schaden, President of the SWV NÖ, emphasized: "For us, MOVE ON means that as a self -employed person you are always in motion and are constantly evolving." This is particularly important for smaller companies that promote economic life in rural regions. Ulrike Königsberger-Ludwig also emphasized how important it is that entrepreneurs take responsibility and create jobs, which they appreciate with their awards.

Andreas Kollross, President of the Lower Austria GVV, noted that the cities and municipalities in Lower Austria play a central role as a client for the regional economy. Strong, financially healthy communities support the local economy and make it sustainable. Herbert Kraus, who brought the entrepreneurship to the region six years ago, was optimistic about the many dynamic companies in the Waldviertel and emphasized the importance of giving this visibility.

The event made it clear that despite economic challenges, numerous companies remain creative and innovative. The gala offered an ideal framework to put the committed entrepreneurs in the spotlight, which can certainly help to further strengthen the regional economy. More information on these topics are
