Seniors from Obritzberg-Rust-Hain discover sugar production and fire brigade

A group of seniors from Obritzberg-Rust-Hain has an exciting trip to Tulln to look behind the scenes of sugar production. First, a visit to the Agrana Zucker company was on the program. There the participants were able to follow up close how to make fine sugar from fresh beets. This company tour conveyed valuable impressions of one of the oldest and most important production processes in Austria.

The group was not only informed about the various manufacturing steps, but also received current information on the current beet campaign. Such excursions are a welcome change in everyday life for the elderly and offer the opportunity to learn something new and gain valuable experience.

visit to the training center

After the informative morning, lunch took place in the Tullnerfelderhof, a popular place to enjoy regional cuisine. The modern training center of the volunteer fire brigade and the disaster relief service went strengthened. Here the participants received an insight into the extensive training of the emergency services. The pensioners impressed the modern premises and the innovative technology used to train the helpers.

Such insights into the training and preparation for emergencies are not only instructive, but also raise awareness of the importance of volunteering in the community. After all, each of us needed the help of these brave people in an emergency.

The end of the successful day was a visit to this year's Ruthmaier-Strobl in Miesting. There the seniors were able to review the day in a convivial atmosphere and exchange ideas with friends. Such excursions not only strengthen knowledge, but also the shared experiences among the participants.

Overall, the trip to Tulln was a complete success that offered both educational and sociable moments. The seniors took the opportunity to learn more about the regional products and the emergency services, and are already looking forward to the next excursion.
