New chapter for Sedat Sahin: Trainer return in Neusiedl

In a surprising turn, Sedat Sahin returns to SC Neusiedl as a coach. The decision was made after a disappointing initial phase of the season that the team brought to the last place in the table. Sahin, who had already successfully worked at Neusiedl from 2012 to 2017, now gets the chance to contribute his experience after the current coach Markus Ohler, who had temporarily taken over the scepter after an injury, suggested an external solution.

Ohler, who has been in the construction training since September due to a multiple break, stated that it was better for the further course of the season if someone brings a breath of fresh air to the team. "I would now pull the ripcord with one or the other player," he said, thus signaling the need for a real coaching personality. The club, and in particular section manager Roland Hallas, estimated the short mean in which Ohler acted as a coach, but there was great hope that Sahin will return to the team.

Sahin's role at SC Neusiedl

Sahin not only brings numerous experiences as a trainer, but also has a close connection to the club. Before he returned, he was without a club for almost a year and was able to spend the patience of getting involved in this task. His previous term was successful, among other things, the team secured the championship title in the 1st grade north in 2014. The position of SC Neusiedl has not been so stable in recent years, which also enlarges the challenge for Sahin.

"The situation is not easy", says the 52-year-old, who is aware of the task that there are still five games until the winter break to collect points and possibly improve the starting position. In this case, being head coach means to successfully rehabilitate a team, now that a long way is still in front of the players to a more hopeful placement in the table.

The comeback and the next steps

The debut of Sahin is in the upcoming duel against his former team, SV Lassee, next Saturday. "A funny story, there are often such interesting constellations in football," comments Hallas. This encounter will be an important challenge for both Sahin and the players, because the last five games in Lassee all ended with defeats for Neusiedl.

The expectations of Sahin are high because the team has to find their way back to old strength quickly. Do you guess which strategies it could use to catch up with the current deficit of five points to a non -relegation zone and seven points to the upper half of the table? The pressure is high, but the hope remains that Sahin, as an experienced trainer, can bring about a positive turn to bring the Neusiedler back on the right track
