Telemedicine revolutionizes an emergency doctor in Vorarlberg!

In the Vorarlberg, the emergency doctor supply is revolutionized: The Red Cross is based on an innovative telenotarz system that is already in use in the Bregenzerwald pilot region. According to information from Orf Vorarlberg , the system is used for less critical inserts to offer the emergency services valuable support through a direct connection to an emergency doctor via tablet or smartphone. Telemedicine enables the emergency doctor to see, advise the patient in real time and access important health data such as ECG results. This system was regarded as a crucial step, especially if the emergency doctor is not yet on site.

first successes and cooperation

The first tests of the telenotarz system have already been successful. Within one day after the introduction, there was an effective contact between the rescue team and the emergency doctor, which according to the Roten Kreuz worked smoothly. Both medical assessments and the decision about the suitable target hospital were effectively implemented via the digital platform.

The existing telenotarz system is operated in cooperation with a team from Lower Austria that provides the Vorarlberg Red Cross its experience. The state government has received the project positively and sees this as a way to further optimize emergency care and at the same time reduce the stress on the emergency doctors on site. State Councilor Martina Rüscher emphasizes that this initiative not only benefits the patient, but also to the doctors in the region by minimizing the need to close her practices.
