Strictly punishments for conscientious parents in Lower Austria!
In the Austrian state of Lower Austria, integration policy is again in focus. Governor Johanna Mikl-Leitner from the ÖVP has called for a significant increase in fines for parents, whose children refuse to integrate. The punitive framework is to be raised from currently a maximum of 440 euros to an impressive 2,500 euros. "It is essential that children learn to consider and accept equality between women and men," said Mikl-Leitner. In their opinion, all persons living in Austria have to respect the local values and rules to ensure a harmonious coexistence, such as Kosmo reported.
The governor makes it clear that an urgent need for action was recognized last summer in order to counteract the lack of respect and the increasing violence in schools. It calls for stronger measures, especially with gross misconduct, such as bullying or violence. This includes mandatory teacher-parents talks. In addition to the higher fines, Mikl-Leitner also plans to shorten the social welfare benefits for affected families. In her view, the majority of the population, which supports integration, must be protected from an irresponsible minority, according to Matthias Zauner, the state manager of the VPNÖ, who sees this as the first important step in the right direction, as apaotot
