Second skill camp in Gmünd: Young people develop digital innovations
at the Gmünd high school recently took place the second skill camp, an event that is aimed at students and promotes innovative digital solutions. This year 25 students took part, including participants from the Czech Republic, which gave the camp an exciting international component.
The idea behind the skills camp is remarkable. Young people work together with companies from the region and develop creative solutions in areas of digitization. They were supported by researchers from the St. Pölten University of Applied Sciences, who brought modern technologies and methods closer to them and their use of practical use. The results of this cooperation can be used in future scientific work, which also increases the benefits for the students.
cooperation between education and economy
The municipality of Gmünd was again the organizer of the camp and offers the students the opportunity to take part in free. Mayor Helga Rosenmayer emphasized the positive cooperation between the St. Pölten University of Applied Sciences, the Gmünd high school and the economy. "The connection between education and business shows great potential," she said enthusiastically.
Another player, Stefan Graf, CEO of the construction company Leyrer + Graf, also expressed a positive statement about the initiative. He emphasized that networking between business and education is enriching for everyone involved and a lot of joy in implementation can be seen.
The camp offered the participants the opportunity to deal with future topics in various workshops. Among other things, the young people illuminated the topics of artificial intelligence and sustainable building. During the final presentations, they had the opportunity to present their ideas in front of an audience of politicians, parents and representatives of local companies. The presentations included innovative approaches such as the use of AI in production processes and a sustainable house with a photovoltaic system.
The contribution of the Czech students, who kept some of their presentations in English, was particularly worth mentioning and thus not only demonstrated their technical skills, but also language skills. This international cooperation strengthens the intercultural skills of those involved.
strong partners from business
The successful implementation of the skill camp would not have been possible without the support of regional companies. Partners such as Agrana, Eaton Industries, ELK-Gerti, Leyrer + Graf and others have made a decisive contribution to the fact that the students were given access to practical experience and valuable resources. The two institutes of the FH St. Pölten, the Institute for Creativemedia/Technologies and the Carl Ritter of Ghega Institute for Integrated Mobility Research played a central role in the organization and design of the event.
Thomas Moser, head of the creativeMedia/technology institute, confirmed the success of the event: "The skills camp shows how young people can develop future -proof solutions through creative approaches and interdisciplinary cooperation." Petra Fischer, who took over the overall coordination of the camp, was also very satisfied with the course and the response of the event.
Overall, the skills camp offers an exciting way for the generation of tomorrow, not only to develop their digital skills, but also actively participate in the design of their future. The promising combination of education, economy and scientific support laid the foundation for innovative approaches and perspectives.
