The recent flood has brought important teachings for the city. Aigner reports: "A total flooding of the old town could only be narrowly averted through our mobile flood protection. That is why we plan to take measures at the old Mühlhof power plant and possibly build a new defense system downstream." The Mühlhof power plant, which was taken over by EVN a few years ago, requires urgent renovations, but is a listed building. However, the mayor emphasizes that the possibility of a fish climbing aid is being examined within the hydropower plant.

In addition, the possibility is examined to build a new basic expenses on the other Erlauf side, the check of which is still pending. "The Erlauf is the second largest water feeder to the Danube, and that would also be important for the generation of electricity. A new weir system with a height adjustment would enable more falling height of the water and thus more energy production," Aigner continues.

As part of the planned urban renewal, the Scheibbs cultural office would like to upgrade the Erlauf area. In view of the increasing interest in River Baden during Hot Summer, the community plans to plant new trees and to build public toilets along Gaminger Straße. "Our goals are to make the area around the city mole and the Erlauf more attractive. A lot is being done for culture in Scheibbs and we support events such as the bridge festival, but we also point out potential noise pollution," added Bernhard Hofecker.

Finally, Hofecker proudly stated that an appealing program will be put together again for the upcoming Scheibbs Christmas market, which will take place from November 29 to December 1st.
