Initiative Christmas packer for Oradea: joy for children in need
For over 30 years, the Wieselburg parish has been involved in a particularly warm aid campaign called "Christmas Packerl for Oradea". This initiative is not only supported by the parish itself, but also by numerous other parishes, the Lions Club as well as many regional organizations and companies. Now this week a collection campaign starts to give children in Romania a pleasure.
Last year Impressive 1,073 gift packages and 831 boxes with clothing and shoes were distributed. In addition, 102 collection packages came together with hygiene articles, food, sweets and stationery. These donations were brought to the Oradea diocese by truck. Martin Distelberger, the main person responsible for the campaign, emphasizes that these many packages not only support children, but also young people, adults and entire families. The relief supplies will benefit needy families, street children, hospitals, homeless homes as well as old people's and nursing homes, whereby Christmas is embellished for many.
How the action works
The parish Wieselburg coordinates the entire initiative, which focuses on providing quick help. The population is called up to pack gifts and give them up to a certain appointment. The organizers then ensure that the parcels arrive in Romania in good time and in good condition. The support of the community is crucial for the success of this campaign. Every year the people of the region are generous and ready to help.
This auxiliary action goes beyond the gift; It also illustrates solidarity and cohesion in the region. The donations collected not only help at Christmas, but also make a valuable contribution to improving the living situation of the needy all year round. "We want as many children's eyes to start to shine as possible when they get gifts," says Distelberger, and this succeeds through the common engagement of countless people.
This year's collection campaign is another step to continue tradition and show the people in Oradea that they are not forgotten. It is to be hoped that the community can take part again in large numbers and that many children can be made happy. Further information on the campaign and the exact delivery dates can be found on the website of the Wieselburg parish. Interested parties can also regularly find out about the progress of the collection and the distribution of the parcels so that the anticipation for Christmas continues to grow.
