On the night of Saturday, November 23, the fire brigade in Schönau an der Triesting in the Baden district was called for dramatic use. In a company that works with textiles, a fire broke out, which triggered a large alarm.
The local volunteer fire brigade Schönau/Triesting received the alarming message via a fire alarm (B1 BMA) from the Baden area alarm center at 01:30 a.m. When the emergency services arrived, the company's staff explained the situation, and the fire brigade operations manager, commander Lukas Plank, quickly found that a machine was burning. The alarm level was then raised to B3, which resulted in the alarm, including the fire brigades from Günselsdorf, Kottingbrunn, Leobersdorf and the city of Bad Vöslau.
danger area quickly secured
Fortunately, there were no more employees in the danger area, which enabled the emergency services to start fire fighting immediately. Under respiratory protection, they were able to take the fire line directly to the affected machine. The recurring fire departments supported with additional breathing apparatus wearers and helped in the water supply and ventilation of the production hall. The fire could be quickly brought under control. With the help of two extinguishing pipes and the in -house sprinkler system, greater damage was prevented. In order to guide the smoke out of the hall, the firefighters used both high -performance fans and a special large fan. Nevertheless, clearing out the fire -affected material turned out to be very time -consuming, since the extinguishing outdoors had to be completed.
