Emergency exercise in the Scheibbs Clinic: Savior in the campaign test during helicopter crash
On Saturday, October 12th, there was an extensive exercise of the blue light organizations in the State Clinic Scheibbs. The event, which lasted several hours, had a fictional scenario as the basis: a helicopter crashed near the clinic and caused serious damage on the third and fourth floor.
In this simulated disaster, several floors of the building were on fire. Emergency actors represented injured persons who had to be saved from the endangered areas. This gave the emergency services the opportunity to demonstrate their skills in the field of human rescue and fire fighting.
coordinated EFFORTS of the emergency services
During the exercise, a triangle was also set up through the Red Cross. This measure made it possible to provide the “injured” and prioritize them after seriousness of the injuries. At the same time, the fire brigade fought with a comprehensive fire -fighting attack against the flames. Emergency services use two beams and a lifting gear to prevent the spread of the fire.
A total of over 120 firefighters from 11 different fire departments from two districts were actively involved, supported by 21 emergency vehicles. In addition, the Red Cross made 18 vehicles and around 100 members available, while the police and the civil protection association were also on site. So the emergency services added up to almost 300 people who together ensured the implementation of the exercise.
The successful implementation of the exercise underlined the need for close cooperation between the various rescue organizations. Only in an emergency can be acted efficiently and saved life through such coordinated efforts. The organizers thank everyone involved and the State Clinic Scheibbs for the support during this important exercise.
