Wind power Simonsfeld: Energy for the region and a livable morning!

In a remarkable step towards the promotion of renewable energies, the Poysdorf-Wilfersdorf wind farm was officially opened on January 10, 2025. Among other things, the Minister of Climate Protection Leonore Gewessler, President of the Landtag, Karl Wilfing and Mayor Thomas Grießl, were present. With the commissioning of four new wind turbines, electricity is produced annually for around 13,000 households, which is a significant contribution to the national energy transition, says Gewessler. She emphasized the urgency of projects such as this for the independence of Austria from fossil fuels and for achieving the goal of generating 100 percent of the electricity from renewable sources by 2030.

cultural and sporting initiatives

But the commitment of the Simonsfeld wind power goes beyond energy production. In 2024, the company sponsored numerous local events to actively support the community. The detailed sponsorship report emphasizes that in addition to the New Year's Eve in Ernstbrunn, the winegrowing festival in Poysdorf and many other cultural highlights were promoted. "Sponsoring of local clubs is important to us to strengthen social life in the region," says Birgitt Kleinschek, head of communication at Simonsfeld wind power. The conviction that cooperation and partnerships are the key to sustainable growth is the focus of their corporate philosophy.

In addition, the President of the Landtag Wilfing certifies the municipality of Mistelbach a pioneering role in use of wind energy. "The course for a livable morning is set here," he emphasized. Windkraft Simonsfeld has not only promoted the development of the wind farm, but also promoted citizen participation, which ensures the projects a high level of acceptance among the population. "We are proud that our regional partnerships are based on mutual trust and that many citizens have participated in the project," added Alexander Hochauer, board member of Windkraft Simonsfeld. Such initiatives make it clear that the future of energy supply is in the community, as the opening event impressively demonstrated.
