Mistelbach's Christmas package: Help for war victims in Ukraine

In the city of Mistelbach, the annual Christmas package campaign of the Evangelical Free Church, which has been carried out for about 20 years, is once again taking place. This initiative is organized in cooperation with the non -profit association "Help that arrives" and aims to help children and adults in Ukraine in need. In view of the humanitarian crisis, which is caused by the continuing conflict in the region, the organizers have decided to collect packages again this year and to distribute before Christmas.

The collected packages will be transported to Ukraine this year. There, the volunteers work closely with local parishes to ensure that the help arrives exactly where it is most urgently needed. In particular, the packages are distributed to people who are severely affected by the devastating acts of war, as well as domestic refugees who can no longer live safely in their homeland.

participating is very simple

The participants are invited to put together gift package at home. These should be packed in stable boxes and decorated for Christmas. The packages in the collection point in the small city hall in Mistelbach can be handed over at two specified delivery dates. The first submission date is on Friday, November 22, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., followed by another date on Saturday, November 23, at the same time.

Some important tips for compiling the packages are: Use stable boxes and pack the content so that you meet the age and gender of the recipients - that is, choose appropriate gifts for children and adults. Labels for more precisely identification of the packages are available on site, whereby the organizers ask to fill the box as completely as possible. In addition, a small transport contribution of 3.50 euros is requested to cover logistics.

For further information about the content of the packages or other details, interested parties can be found to the website of the Freikirche at www.freirkirche-mistelbach.at Contact 0664/5321764.

according to report by www.meinbezirk.at An impressive number of around 4,500 packages was collected throughout Austria in 2023, which were then brought to Ukraine. The distribution of the packages is planned for the beginning of January, to match the Orthodox Christmas. This is an important gesture of solidarity that is supposed to reach many people in need in Ukraine.

Not only the Christmas package campaign, also local events, such as the fire brigade's Christmas market, attract visitors and offer opportunities for community engagement. The anticipation for the upcoming Advent markets in the district is growing, and everyone is invited to become part of this great action.
