Mikl-Leitner opens Austria's largest logistics park in Fischamend!

Fischamend, Österreich - On June 2, 2025, the Governor of Lower Austria, Johanna Mikl-Leitner, opened the Helios Logistik Center in Fischamend. The opening took place in the presence of Mayor Thomas Ram, Cemil Ayaz by Helios Real Estate, Airport board member Günther Ofner and Wolfgang Scheibenpflug from Vienna AG. With a total area of 80,000 square meters, the Helios Logistik Center is the largest logistics park in Austria. Mikl-Leitner described the new center as a showcase project for modern location development and a clear commitment to the business location in Lower Austria.

The logistics center offers a direct connection to the street, rail and aviation and was built on a former landfill area, which means that no new soil had to be sealed. In her speech, Mikl-Leitner emphasized the importance of three central areas to strengthen the business location: the reduction in bureaucracy, the focus on future industries such as the rail industry and space as well as the support of digitization and innovation projects.

economic importance

Günther Ofner emphasized the importance of the Logistik Center for the security of supply and the long -term development of the region. Mayor Thomas Ram also took the opportunity to emphasize the economic relevance of the new logistics center for the community. Cemil Ayaz praised the successful collaboration of everyone involved during the project, while Wolfgang Scheibenpflug indicates the urgently needed infrastructure expansion in the airport region, especially in the area of e-commerce. David Longin from HT General entrepreneur & Industriebau GmbH also emphasized the sustainability aspect of the entire project.

In addition to the opening of the Helios Logistik Center, the groundbreaking ceremony for a new central logistics center at Vienna Airport was carried out on May 26, 2025. From 2027, this project is to ensure the delivery of over 100 shops and restaurants in the terminals. The new central logistics center will take an area of around 6,000 m² near the General Aviation Center and receives a direct connection to the airport apron. The unit is operated by Vienna Airport Logistics GmbH, a joint venture from Bradford Airport Logistics and Flughafen Vienna AG.

planned extensions and processes

The concept stipulates that all deliveries for the shops and restaurants in the new logistics center are recorded, checked for safety and handed over to the respective areas of use. This should ensure a uniform, clearly regulated process for the operators of the shops and restaurants and significantly reduce the number of individual deliveries.

These developments are in line with a support campaign that aims to support research and development capacities in the region. It aims to promote dynamic developments and the establishment of know-how at the location and includes the possibility of co-financing by the European Fund for Regional Development (EFR)

Overall, the Helios Logistik Center and the central logistics center at Vienna Airport shows that the region is pursuing a future -oriented strategy that prioritizes both the economic location development and sustainable logistics solutions. The parties involved are confident that these projects will not only strengthen the local economic structures, but also make a contribution to security of supply and efficiency in the logistics industry.
