The flood, which caused both human suffering and massive damage to infrastructures, was particularly concise, as reported in a comprehensive review by NÖN.AT. But not only floods shaped the year in Lilienfeld. In January, a 17-year-old from Lilienfeld targeted fire and thus caused immense damage-almost 300,000 euros at the Billa branch and at Killcontainers nearby. This arson led to a quick intervention by the fire brigade, which could extinguish the flames in good time. The young person was then brought to court and received a prison sentence of 20 months, whereby 15 months were suspended and must continue to go through psychotherapy, as the NÖN reports.
In the middle of these challenges, however, there were also gratifying developments in the district, including renovations of public buildings and cultural events that spread hope and optimism. The community also organized traditional festivals that brought the residents together and helped them to leave the stress of the year behind.Further information on the most important events and developments in 2022 in Lilienfeld can be found at meinbezirk.at Review of NÖN.AT .
