Art and nature combined: Discover the exhibitions in Krems!

Krems an der Donau, Österreich - The curtain rises for a fascinating art year 2025! The Landesgalerie Lower Austria and the caricature museum Krems present spectacular exhibitions that captivate art lovers. The exhibition "Flower Power. A cultural history of plants" gives profound insights into the influence of plants on human life and includes works by famous artists such as Carl Spitzweg and Maria Lassnig. At the same time, the caricature museum addresses the relationship between humans and nature with "longing forest. Stories and caricature" with humorous and critical drawings of greats such as Bruno Haberzettl and Manfred Deix. These exhibitions promise to impressively show human relationship to nature.

As part of the Kunstmeile Krems , which has been a center for modern art in Lower Austria since the opening of the Kunsthalle Krems in 1995, a very special anniversary will be celebrated in 2025: On the occasion of the 100th birthday of the renowned artist Christa Hauer, a comprehensive exhibition will be aligned with her life. In addition, the caricature museum Krems will dedicate a broad retrospective to the cartoonist Michael Pammesberger on the occasion of his round birthday. The American painter Susan Rothenberg also receives a monographic show that honors her pioneering work in neo-expressionism. For the little visitors, the exhibition "Grüffelo & Co." with original illustrations by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler, represent another highlight.

These and many other exhibitions that extend across the entire art mile invite you to experience the rich art scene in Lower Austria. With a total of five presentation levels and 3,000 m² of exhibition space, the state gallery offers a platform that combines traditional and contemporary art. Here the old meets the new, and art enjoyment becomes an unforgettable experience.
