Tennis festival in Korneuburg: Local heroes shine at ITN-Open
The ITN tennis festival in Korneuburg was a complete success! With 54 participants from all over the region, including players from Vienna, Lower Austria and Burgenland, the tournament presented itself as a lively event. Tournament director Martin Angerer had made the gratifying line -up together with the SK Sparkasse Korneuburg association, which also organized the event this year. The excellent weather conditions contributed to the good mood and exciting matches.
The strong performance of the local hero Wolfgang Pichler was particularly striking. He got a place in the final of the men's competition for ITN points between 7.50 and 10.00. The women also offered great games: in the competition ITN 7.00-10.00, outstanding players competed. Andrea Reichel from UTC Deutschkreuz prevailed against the Großrußbacher Magdalena Pachner in the final and won in two sets. Sophie Gottwald and Christa Goldschmidt each secured third place in this competition.
In the men's single ITN 5.00-10.00 category, Kaloyan Ivanov from Vienna showed an impressive performance by defeating Jochen Reim from Leitzersdorf in the final. In addition, the Mixed double competition ITN inspired 5.00-10.00, where Eva Janik and Hannes Pribitzer from Oberrohrbach achieved first place, while Angelika Spitaler and Jürgen Eberhardt took third place.
