Langenzersdorf plans 40 new bicycle parking spaces for more mobility

In Langenzersdorf, the infrastructure for bicycle parking spaces is significantly improved. The NEOS campaigned for the expansion of the bicycle stands at the last council meeting, with a clear majority being accepted. This is a crucial step to make mobility in the municipality in a future -proof manner.

Neos chairman Michael Artner emphasized that there is a high need for additional parking spaces in popular places such as the train station or supermarkets. "With these new parking spaces, we would like to encourage citizens: to switch to the bike more often and to make sustainable forms of mobility more attractive," said Artner and referred to the need to react to the steadily growing bicycle traffic.

A special focus is on the train station, where four lockable bicycle boxes are now to be built. This measure first serves to test it. Artner expressed hope that these protected parking facilities will prove themselves primarily for more expensive bicycles and e-bikes: "If the demand is confirmed, we plan to expand the offer." The introduction of these bicycle boxes represents a further step towards a safer and more modern bicycle culture in Langenzersdorf.

A total of around 40 additional bicycle parking spaces are set up. This expansion of the bicycle parking infrastructure is expected to begin next year. Evaluation is already planned after the first implementation to check the success of these measures and, if necessary, make adjustments.
