Korneuburg enlightened: Festive Advent market inspires young and old

On November 22nd, Korneuburger Hauptplatz became a festive place when Mayor Christian Gepp opened the Advent market. With a solemn "It will be light" he heralded the illumination of the huge Christmas tree, which put the visitors in a pre -Christmas mood.

The event began before the official opening with a performance by the Alpine Carolers, who created an atmospheric atmosphere with their Christmas carols, dressed in Victorian costumes. In the further course the Duo Grande gave its best to accompany the celebrations musically.

Mayor Gepp underlined the importance of Christmas and the opportunity to bring the community together. He said:

"With the beginning of the pre -Christmas period, our district capital once more turns into a place of contemplation and cooperation. Thanks to the committed use of city marketing, a varied program awaits us that will inspire young and old."

A highlight of the opening was the honor of members of the Red Cross Korneuburg. Stephanie Trimmel and Franz Moritz were awarded the silver medal "Help Next", while Michael Neumayer received the gold medal. This recognition recognizes the valuable contributions that these people have made in the community.

Various offer for the whole family

The Advent market will offer a colorful program for four weeks. Visitors can look forward to hot punch, fragrant mulled wine and various culinary specialties. Handmade handicrafts are also presented here. Particular attention is paid to a family -friendly environment and sustainable projects.

The musical offer includes numerous national and international artists. The Highlights include the Longfield Gospel Choir, the International Gospel Society, as well as regional talents such as the D’ Weinbeisser and the Brasshoppers. The musical performances take place on the market days from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.

For younger visitors, there is the gnome workshop, in which children from the age of four can make gifts under guidance. Christmas stories and popular films create a cozy atmosphere and participation is free of charge. However, a small contribution of expenses is charged to decorate gingerbread.
