Safe crèche places in Horn-Lehe: Challenges of Ü3 care
For families in Horn-Lehe, booking a place in the crib is currently less complicated than in other parts of the city. According to Quirinus Kauffels, responsible for childcare at the senator for children and education, there are sufficient U3 places in the district. But while the demand in this area is well covered, it looks less rosy in the Ü3 places.
Currently there are about two to three groups for the older children, which is particularly questionable by the upcoming closure of the Murmel daycare center. This facility, which is located on the site of Petri and Eichen on Horner Heerstrasse, will have to change its location next year. The authority is concerned and emphasized that securing the capacity of the marble is of great importance for it. Nevertheless, the search for alternatives has so far been unsuccessful because there are no suitable locations.
Future of the daycare center Murmel uncertain
The educational committee has assured the parents of the Murmel daycare center in order to accommodate the 29 children, who may not have a place in Horn-Lehe from summer. In addition, the committee demands the senator to replace the eliminating groups of the Murmel daycare center as quickly as possible. However, the conversations that are led to secure the facility are not yet on solid ground.
In the same breath, the future of the daycare center on Berckstrasse remains unclear. Four of the five groups there will be part of the Ronzelenstraße campus in the future, which raises the uncertainty about the whereabouts of the remaining groups. There were considerations to build a new building, but this project was hindered by the plans of the energy supplier SWB, which would like to expand its substation. It remains unclear how far this project has progressed.
School dinner in the discussion
"We are decisively campaigned against this project in Bremen and also call on the advisory board conference to stop this intolerable plan with all available means" is recorded in the decision. Which schools in Horn-Lehe would be affected by this measure is currently still unclear.
