Zwickau. From November 29th, visitors to August Horch Museum Zwickau can experience a fascinating special exhibition entitled "Audi in Le Mans - 24 Hours at the Limit". This exhibition is intended to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the first participation of Audi in the famous 24-hour race of Le Mans, which took place from 1999 to 2018.
Audi wrote motorsport history during this time and was able to win the victory 13 times in 18 participations. These impressive numbers make it clear that the brand is one of the most successful participants in this traditional long -distance race. Visitors can look forward to an exciting journey through time through the victories and technology of the Audi vehicles, which have repeatedly demonstrated their skills in these challenges.
The exhibition and its highlights
A first highlight of the exhibition is Audi's debut in 1999 when the R8R landed on the podium. Not only this considerable racing success will be seen, but also the sister vehicle R8C, which played a crucial role together with the R8R. The exhibition illuminates how the engineers at Audi choose the appropriate vehicle type and what decisions were made in the course of the race.
The special exhibition shows a total of nine vehicles that reflect the history of Audi in Le Mans, including the victorious models Audi R8 TFSI, Audi R10 TDI and Audi R18 e-tron Quattro. A particularly impressive piece of the exhibition is the winner's cup that Audi received for its three consecutive victories from 2006 to 2008. With a height of almost 1.30 meters and a weight of over 50 kilograms, this trophy is a truly outstanding object.

The August Horch Museum is open from Tuesday to Sunday from 9.30 a.m. to 5 p.m., with a closed on the holidays on Mondays. Children under the age of 6 are free to admission, adults pay 13 euros, reduced tickets are available for 11 euros.
