Vacation souvenir: personal treasures from a distance in Hollabrunn
Vacation souvenir: personal treasures from a distance in Hollabrunn
holiday memories are more than just photos on the cell phone - they often manifest themselves in small souvenirs that enrich life at home. In Hollabrunn there are many travelers who not only bring great stories from their adventures abroad, but also special souvenirs. These souvenirs not only bear an emotional value, they also keep the memories of beautiful moments alive.
One of the proud supporters is the city councilor Elisabeth Schüttengruber-Holly. She has a preference for typical treasures that she brings home from her travels. "I have fine black sand from Madeira, who is now in a glass with me," she says with a smile. "From Italy there is always a packer of pasta, and the mussels that I collected in the Maldives are decorative on my shelf." These small treasures are more than just objects for them - they are like small holiday fragments that enrich their everyday life in a special way. The spices from Sri Lanka also did it. "They remind me of the beautiful moments of vacation when working," she adds.
souvenirs and their stories
Not only she has a weakness for memorabilia. Angelika Büchler, the managing director of the Hollabrunn waste association, is also a passionate souvenir collector. "I always bring cups for a friend and collect fridge magnets," she says. Her largest souvenir came from Namibia, a trip that she appreciates very much. Your refrigerator is already decorated with about 20 different magnets, everyone tells their own story.
The Vice-Miss Austria Ines Gruber also has a special way of dealing with souvenirs. "Everyone gets something in my family - even grandpa!" She says. Your suitcases are often filled with memory, which sometimes leads to problems on the way back. "I sweat at the airport every time my suitcase is difficult. But so far everything has worked!" A personal favorite are their key rings, which together represent a small trip around the world.
The anticipation for the next trips already makes the consideration of which small treasures you will bring home again. "Vacation may end, but the memories continue to live - and they should be a little jingle and glitter!" Ines Gruber summarizes.
The stories and souvenirs show how important it is to keep memories and bring joy into everyday life with little things. Even if these pieces are often small, they help to keep the experiences of travel alive and to revive them again and again.
