Ceremonial opening: New kindergarten on Rupert Rockenbauer-Platz

In the heart of Retz, a new chapter was opened in toddler care when the newly renovated kindergarten was officially opened on Rupert Rockenbauer-Platz. The event attracted numerous guests who were enchanted by the little educators and the charismatic reception of the kindergarten manager Romana Laudon. A kindergarten child welcomed those present with the words "Welcome to kindergarten" and presented self -made bookmarks, which immediately provided a warm atmosphere.

Mayor Stefan Lang, who has a close connection to this project, was satisfied with the smooth running of the conversion. "It is great that the schedule was met and the renovation could be completed accident -free," said Lang, praising the cooperation of the entire team. The directors of the local schools and representatives of the tourism schools were also present and were recognized by Lang as "great neighbors".

years of planning and implementation

The planning phase launched in 2015 was characterized by careful preparation and considerations to create a stable care option. Claudia Schnabl, the city councilor, said that during her first inspection in 2020 she quickly realized that renovation was urgently needed. A permanent location should be created from a provisional kindergarten. A total of 1.4 million euros were invested in the renovation work.

In order to enable the children to be able to support the children during the construction phase, the little ones were temporarily sheltered in the rooms of the parish. Schnabl thanked the parents and the care team for understanding during this time. The big thank you also went to the architecture firm Litschauer and the building supervision under Andreas Neuwirth, who provided valuable support in the renovation.

Financial aid was available from the State of Lower Austria and the private foundation Weinviertler Sparkasse, without which such a renovation would not have been possible. Special thanks went to Gregor Danzinger, who contributed to the promotion of energy efficiency and climate protection to achieve corresponding means.

As the main speaker, State Councilor Christiane Teschl-Hofmeister spoke and emphasized the importance of investments in the latest generations: "To invest money in the youngest is the best facility." She expressed her joy that the future of the kindergarten could be secured with this renovation. To her speech, she also brought the children some picture books and an insect hotel as a gift that were received with great joy.

The kindergarten children framed the celebration with singing performances that delighted the audience. After the blessing of the new building by brother Johannes, everyone was invited to fortify themselves at the buffet. This was lovingly prepared by students from the tourism schools under the direction of Udo Vorwalder and director Barbara Sablik-Baumgartner. The open house offered an excellent opportunity for parents and interested parties to get an idea of the new premises and the modern concept of kindergarten.
