The volleyball players of VC Offenburg have impressively celebrated their introduction to the 3rd division. In the first game of the season on Saturday evening against the DJK Schwäbisch Gmünd, they were able to prevail with a clear 3-0 victory. The encounter took place in the Schwäbisch Gmünder Halle and within 75 minutes the first points were in the climber's account from the Ortenau.

coach Joschka Wawra was extremely pleased after the game about the performance of his team. From the beginning on the field, Anastasia Baimler were in passing, Hannah Haas as a diagonal player and the players Lara Meier and Jessica Roth in the middle block. The exterior attackers Louisa Seib and Mariella Bouagaa as well as the Liberas Ekaterina Baimler and Lana Beker also contributed to the strong team performance. Wawra deliberately chose not to let his captain Lia Bondar play right from the start because she was struck in advance. "I didn't want to risk anything," he said.

The performance of Hannah Haas was particularly noteworthy, who, after her success as a European police champion, offered a strong performance. The team motivated their energy and mood in the field and contributed to the positive team atmosphere. "The chemistry in the team is easy," emphasized Wawra, adding that the variability of his team also contributed significantly to success. In the third set, a change of position was carried out in which Annika Vix is now playing in the diagonal attack and moving Haas to the outside position.

The debut by Jessica Roth, who comes from Mimmenhausen and was in the starting line -up in the first third division game, was also received positively. In the coming days, the team already has the next game in view. On Saturday at 7 p.m., the VCO women receive the SG Marburg-Biedenkopf for the first home game in the Nord-West-Halle. Captain Lia Bondar promised an exciting event because the men's team plays at 4 p.m.
