Skill camp in Gmünd: Students: Develop digital future ideas inside

at the Gmünd high school recently took place the second skill camp, which was a great success like in the previous year. This year 25 students took part, including some from the Czech Republic, which gave the project an exciting international grade. In cooperation with seven regional companies and the FH St. Pölten, the young people had the chance to develop creative solutions for digitization.

The idea behind the skills camp is to enable young people to develop innovative concepts together with companies. The camp is not only a platform for learning, but also a place where valuable networks between education, science and business can be linked.

promote innovative approaches

The students experienced innovative methods and the latest technologies first -hand through the scientific support of researchers at the St. Pölten University of Applied Sciences. These results can not only be used for pre -scientific work, but also for future diploma theses and cooperation with participating companies. Thomas Moser, head of the Institute for Creative Media/Technologies, emphasized the importance of the project for the promotion of entrepreneurial thinking in the region.

"We enable young people to develop their ideas directly in cooperation with companies and under scientific support," said Moser and underlined the commitment of the St. Pölten University of Applied Sciences for regional development.

Future topics in focus

As part of the camp, the students were able to explore various future -oriented topics in four workshops that ranged from artificial intelligence to sustainable building. In the final presentations, the participants had the opportunity to present their creative ideas in front of an audience from the region. Many of the projects, including a sustainable house with a photovoltaic system and wind turbine, as well as a short film about a waste robot, met with great enthusiasm.

The participation of students from the Czech Republic was another highlight of this year's camp. The young people were able to demonstrate not only their technical skills, but also their language skills through English -language presentations.

The young innovators were supported by regional companies such as Agrana and Leyrer + Graf. These companies not only offer resources and specialist knowledge, but also practical experiences that are invaluable for the participants.

The FH St. Pölten was also represented with two of its institutes: the Institute for Creative Media/Technologies and the Carl Ritter of Ghega Institute for Integrated Mobility Research. Petra Fischer, who took over the overall organizational coordination, highlighted the positive response and success of the project.

Overall, the second skills camp impressively showed how important such initiatives are in order to prepare the youth for the challenges of the future. For the participating students and supporting companies, the camp offered a valuable platform for joint development and exchange.
