Thieves only escape briefly: the police take suspected thief quartet!

In a dramatic incident in Gmünd, four suspects, including two women (29 and 30 years) and two men (27 and 36 years), were arrested after they had stolen in several supermarkets worth over 2,900 euros. The perpetrators, all Czech citizens, hid petitions such as alcohol, meat and sausage products as well as toilet articles in a backpack and in the baby tub of a stroller. The stitch was as simple as it was brazen: While they distracted the cashiers, they left the shops without paying, vienna.at .

Thanks to the vigilance of an employee and a customer in the supermarket, a search could be initiated quickly. The Gmünd police, supported by the Echsenbach police dog inspection, recorded the persecution and only viewed the fleeting vehicle for 15 minutes after the thieves. The short attempt to escape the suspect ended on the LB2 in Vitis, Waidhofen district on the Thaya, where the police could stop the car. During the subsequent check, it turned out that a large amount of stolen goods was hidden in the vehicle, such as meinzirk.at reported.

The four people were temporarily arrested due to their actions and, after interrogation at the Gmünd police inspection, were brought to the Krems judiciary. In addition, considerable security deficiencies were found during the vehicle control, which is why the license plate boards were removed and the vehicle driver was reported. A faster and successful use of the police was able to prevent a further incident of shoplifting in the region.
