In a shattering tragedy, a pregnant 18-year-old suffered a sudden death in Zwettlbad on February 6th. The young woman collapsed in the cloakroom after she had supposedly consumed several cocaine, which might lead to a brain hemorrhage. Despite the immediate help of a doctor present and the quick handover to the State Clinic in Zwettl, only death could be determined, as the Kronen Zeitung reported. It is particularly tragic that the deceased was in the early phase of her pregnancy at that time.

On the same weekend, there was a terrifying violent crime in the Gänserndorf district. A 65-year-old woman was found dead in the vineyards of Zistersdorf with a serious cut. The police immediately started a large -scale commitment to grasp the alleged perpetrator, who was previously seen nearby and apparently was in a familiar relationship with the victim. While the population was asked to exercise caution, the suspect should finally be spotted in a wine cellar, where he could entrench himself, such as the State Police Directorate Lower Austria communicated.

The situation continued to escalate when the police tried to neutralize the suspect. A civil servant was seriously injured when the Cobra operational command was accessed after the 59-year-old ignited an explosive device. While the complete police force, including over 120 civil servants and technical support, was on site, an explosion detonated that ultimately called for the life of the suspect. The investigation into the act of violence and their backgrounds are ongoing.
