Juicy harvest: Preinbach celebrates fruit presses with 900 liters of juice
On Saturday morning there was a fruity event in Preinbach when the mobile juicer stopped at the volunteer fire brigade. Anton Pfaffeder, Vice Mayor of the City of Haag and deputy chamber chairman of the Amstetten Chamber of Agriculture, was with the game and pressed proud 1,400 kilograms of apples and pears to around 900 liters of fresh juice.
The event not only offered the opportunity to process domestic fruit, but also the joy of the shared experience. "We did everything right. The juice tastes fantastic," said a satisfied face among the participants. Anton and Katharina Pfaffeder explained the individual steps of pressing the visitors. First, the apples had to be washed thoroughly. Then they came through the round rollers that crushed the fruits while the juice was already collected in a container.

"When pressing, the pomace also falls, the shells and remains of the fruits that we also collect in a container," continued Pfaffeder. An exciting phase of the process was the pasteurization of the juice, in which it was heated to over 70 degrees before it was filled. During the waiting for the completion, the first samples of the freshly squeezed apple juice were already announced.
On the event day, local providers who presented their regional products were also represented. Markus Nadlinger and Christoph Lehner brought linseed oil, herbal salt, honey and must. The village renewal association also ensured the physical well -being of the visitors with drinks, coffee, cake and sandwiches. "It was a pleasure to see how many people are here today and participate so committed," remarked environmental councilor Michaela Pfaffeder.
Overall, the health councilor Claudia Weinbrenner and the local mayor of Preinbach, Andreas Gruber, were pleased that around 1,400 kilograms of fruit could be processed and 900 liters of juice could be produced. The event not only contributed to the quality of life in the region, but also promoted the sense of community.
This event shows how important the producers are on site and how much people appreciate the opportunity to process their own fruits and use it in a healthy way. Further information and impressions of this event can be found here .
