On December 4th and 5th, 2024, a very special film will be shown in the Waidhofen/Ybbs film. The Filmzuckerl association invites you to experience the feature film "Treasure", which is originally presented with subtitles. The "Treasure" is about the New York music journalist Ruth Rothwax, played by Lena Dunham, who travels to Poland together with her father Edek (Stephen Fry). The film takes place shortly after the fall of the iron curtain and illuminates the past of the Jewish family of the protagonists. Edek, a survivor of the Holocaust, visits the places of his childhood and confronts deeply rooted memories while Ruth tries to understand her parents' trauma. In particular, the tension between the different perspectives of Ruth and Edek leads to humorous but also emotional situations.
